NCIS: NOLA’s Lucas Black Is Facing Serious Backlash for This Controversial Tweet
Former NCIS: New Orleans star Lucas Black sent out a Tweet regarding the Super Bowl Halftime Show.
He called the performance a "display of sexual exploitation" that should be blocked from kids.
Former NCIS: New Orleans star Lucas Black started quite a Twitter war during the Super Bowl.
Though most people thought Jennifer Lopez and Sharika’s Halftime Show performance was amazing (J. Lo even snuck in an Oscars snub—that’s talent!), Lucas wasn’t one of them. In fact, he took to social media to suggest that kids shouldn’t have been able to watch the ladies’ musical numbers.
“Protecting your daughter and sons from seeing the display of sexual exploitation at the #SuperBowl halftime show is showing love,” he wrote. “We have to teach our younger generation that their value and self worth comes from what God says is true about them.”
Listen, Lucas has a lot of fans in his corner. After all, people were devastated when his character was killed off of NCIS: NOLA earlier this season. But most of his followers were really not on board with his views on this one—and they let him know it.
“I get that you feel this way but COME ONE!” one person said. “How was it sexualized when last year Adam Levine is TOPLESS. Was he too oversexualized?” Another added, “It’s showing them the Latin culture. It was amazing! Two Latina women displaying their language and culture!”
Bruh I get that you feel this way but COME ON! How was it sexualized when last year Adam Levine is TOPLESS. was he too oversexualized?? And didn’t God create the human body and bless us with free will to do with it what we want?

It's showing them the Latin culture. It was amazing! Two latina women displaying their language and culture! And reminding the US that Puerto Rico is part of the US! 🇵🇷🇵🇷

So you are saying Shakira and J.Lo do not have self worth or values because their own personal styles do not appeal to your religious view points?

It didn’t stop there, either. “So you are saying Shakira and J.Lo do not have self worth or values because their own personal styles do not appeal to your religious view points?” said one user. Some even went so far as to criticize past roles where he didn’t exactly “practice what you preach.”
There were some people who saw Lucas’s point of view, or at least seemed to respect his opinion.
Personally I enjoyed the music but it's totally cool that you choose modesty in what your children and family watch. Hope to see you acting again in the future 🙌

But regardless of whose side you're on, we think we can agree that Lucas probably won't be attending a J. Lo show anytime soon.
