Looks like things are really starting to heat up between Nick Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) and Ellie Bishop (Emily Wickersham) on NCIS. But not everyone is in favor of them finally getting together in season 18.

At the end of Tuesday night’s episode, the two special agents were heading out of the office when Nick mentioned that they should probably have "the talk" about their relationship. After going back and forth about when they could make time for it, Nick and Ellie decided to discuss everything right there in the elevator. Alas, fans watching at home only caught a smidge of the conversation. In true fashion of the CBS crime show, the moment ended on a cliffhanger.

“OK, so ladies first,” Nick said in the clip below. “Sure, um, okay Nick, so ever since we were in the jail cell together … ,” Ellie began. While she tried composing her thoughts, the elevator doors slowly closed, and the show’s end credits began rolling.

Unsurprisingly, Nick and Ellie supporters, also known as #Ellick shippers, were left wanting more. “Why elevator why 😰 What's happening between them?” one person tweeted. “I need to actually SEE WITH MY EYES an ON SCREEN #Ellick confession,” another added. “We want Bishop and Torres' kiss ... You have to stop. we want Ellick ...” a different fan said.

Others were just elated that the two partners simply made the decision to be honest with each other. “I’m glad they’re finally talking about it, but I think I speak for all #ellick fans when I say, as [a] reaction to the elevator doors closing, COME ON!!! I wish they showed more of their talk, but also I understand the whole let’s not show them all their cards,” a follower commented on YouTube.

That said, there are plenty of folks who don't want to see Nick and Ellie share a special moment together. "No Torres Bishop love story 🙄🙄🙄," someone else wrote. "Don’t even get me started 🙄," another fan said. "When they make Nick and Ellie a couple it is going to be awkward for me to watch," a viewer added.

Back in April, Wilmer spoke with TVLine about this particular scene and what it could mean for the characters down the road. “Who knows, is it the moment they wanted, or a moment they didn’t want?” he told the outlet. “Should they not break a Gibbs Rule, or should they just go for it?”

Talk about playing with our hearts!
