Navarro Genealogical Society grateful for Oakwood Odyssey support

May 15—The Navarro County Genealogical Society would like to thank everyone — Staff, volunteers, and supporters who helped with, worked at, and attended this year's Oakwood Odyssey. The Society continues to raise funds to bring to the patrons of the Liz Gillispie Genealogy Department at the Corsicana Public Library at no fee.

It is only possible through the dedication of the folks who give their time researching, advertising, photographing, script writing, memorizing lines and acting and our docents that make our Odyssey through Oakwood Cemetery possible. The staff enjoys learning new facts about Navarro County and Corsicana history, so we can present it in a first-person narrative through our actors.

The Liz Gillispie Genealogy Department also helps anyone who is working on their genealogy. A genealogy workshop, " 101," will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 23 in the Nancy Roberts Meeting Room at the Corsicana Public Library, 100 N. Twelfth St. The public is invited to attend. — Dana Stubbs, Navarro County Genealogical Society
