Mark Reynolds got ejected twice after throwing his batting gloves at the umpire

Mark Reynolds was not pleased with home plate umpire Sam Holbrook on Tuesday.

The Washington Nationals first baseman was called in to pinch hit in the top of the eighth inning of a close game against the Philadelphia Phillies when he struck out looking.

Reynolds protested the called third strike, which led to his being tossed from the game by Holbrook. As baseball players are wont to do, Reynolds took his time leaving the field and continued to argue with Holbrook.

When Nationals manager Dave Martinez intervened, Reynolds began to walk off the field with third base coach Bob Henley as an escort. Then this happened.

If you’re counting, that’s two batting gloves thrown at Holbrook. And that’s two ejections for Reynolds.
