Over the last year in lockdown I can only recall wearing a full face of make-up a handful of times, but when going au naturel my skin can look grey, lack lustre and quite dull.

Working from home has meant I have become even more reluctant to apply all the works to make me "look alive", and instead I have been relying on Nars' Tinted Moisturiser with SPF to add a bit of colour and glow to my skin for a radiant complexion.

The beauty buy was a firm favourite for me even before lockdown, but this year it has proven to be my go-to for all occasions.

Why we rate it

Nars' Tinted Moisturiser comes in two varieties; one with SPF 30 and one without, and I prefer the one with sun protection. I layer it over sunscreen in the summer, but I like to know that it is providing extra protection all year round too.

The main reason I rave about this tinted moisturiser so much is because I am not a foundation wearer, never have been, nor do I wear fake tan. As I wash and exfoliate my face often it tends to be the palest part of my body.

But, slapping on the bronzer has become 1) too much effort (thanks COVID) and 2) more obvious, especially in the winter months.

I apply moisturiser everyday, so I thought "What is the difference in one with a little bit of colour?"

It has changed my beauty routine entirely. In fact, it has become a major step in every make-up look of mine for the last three years.

I don't like the feeling of my face being too sticky, greasy or oily, or feeling like my skin can't breathe because it is caked in product, which is why this has my seal of approval.

Nars' Tinted Moisturiser is lightweight, breathable and hydrating, as well as brightening and protecting. Tick, tick, tick.

The formula not only contains broad spectrum sun protection to shield against UVA rays, but also contains kopara, which encourages cell renewal, while also working to condition and hydrate the skin.

It also contains vitamin C and antioxidants, which not only protect against environmental aggressors, but work to brighten and smooth the complexion, as well as even out skin tone.

It is safe to say, after receiving compliments for having dewy looking skin, I think Nars' Tinted Moisturiser delivers across the board.

The product is oil-free, so it moisturises without being tacky and is easy to apply or blend with your moisturiser or other cosmetics. It is also paraben and fragrance-free.

I apply a pea-size amount to get the second skin natural look for everyday wear. However, it is also buildable, and for occasions I will apply a little more for extra coverage, and mix with Nars' Illuminator for an extra glow.

Nars' Tinted Moisturiser retails for £33. The additional 10 hues launched on 1 May in Space NK, but shoppers will have to wait a little longer for them to hit more stores nationwide from 15 May.
