How a great outfit forms social connection
For Harper's Bazaar, Kaitlyn Greenidge pens an homage to the power of a great outfit. She describes the ecstasy she would feel getting dressed for school growing up, saying, "I always remember that feeling of looking in the mirror and being entranced by the clothing I'd chosen. The chance to tell a story—big or small—through clothes simply felt too good to pass up." Greenidge connects with other creatives who join her in this passion for dressing up. Writer and performer Alok tells Greenidge, "[...] it does take guts in a world that continually asks us, 'What are you dressed up for?' to respond, 'Myself,' and to mean it." {Harper's Bazaar}

Is Alo Yoga the top athleisure brand now?
For years, Lululemon has been the top-ranking brand in the athleisure space. However, it seems now that the tide is turning in favor of Alo Yoga. Alo has been able to differentiate itself from brands like Lululemon and draw customers by building a niche and offering unique experiences (i.e. in-store meditation, yoga and more). "There's a lot of benefit in creating these experiences, because it drives loyalty and excitement for an item, which of course translates in sales," said Angelic Vendette, Alo Yoga's global head of marketing. "But then it also creates a bonding experience between our brand and our community." {Business of Fashion}

Maximilian Davis gives first in-depth interview since joining Ferragamo
When Maximilian Davis became creative director of Ferragamo in 2022, a sizable task came with the role: revive the Italian heritage brand. Davis gave his first in-depth interview since taking on the role to Rory Satran for Wall Street Journal. With his appointment also came a new signature shade of red for the brand. "The red has always been there," he says, "it just needed tweaking…. Making it a very bright and shocking red really gave it energy and excitement." As Davis prepares to showcase his next collection for the brand, fans like Dua Lipa are sharing what makes him the right person to bring freshness to the label: "He represents the new generation of designers coming out of London [...] I think what inspires me the most is his honoring of his roots." {Wall Street Journal}
