Muffin Products Sold At Walmart, 7-Eleven, And More Stores Are Being Recalled

Several muffin products are being recalled due to listeria-related concerns. The prepackaged muffins were sold at places like 7-Eleven, Stop & Shop, Walmart, and Sam's Club.

Official notice of the recall was posted by the Food & Drug Administration which announced the voluntary recall by Give and Go Prepared Foods. The recall includes a number of Give and Go products, but only those listed by the FDA are affected. All other Give and Go products are untouched by the issue but those involved include blueberry, banana nut, double chocolate, and Oreo flavors, among others.

No illnesses linked to the recall have been reported; the issue was noticed during an environmental monitoring program and the recall was announced out of an abundance of caution. Listeria is a bacteria that can potentially cause Listeriosis when contaminated food is consumed. Symptoms can be particularly harmful to young children, the elderly, and individuals with otherwise weakened immune systems.

An extensive list of the products is posted on the FDA website including brand names, descriptions, and lot codes. Anyone who has the Give and Go muffins in their possession should dispose of them immediately without consuming anything first. Customers can contact the company at 1-844-366-1171 with any questions regarding the recall.

While you check your pantry for these packaged baked goods, you should also note that other popular grocery items like kimchi and Tyson chicken are also facing recalls, both due to potential listeria contamination. All recalls feature detailed information about brand names and other identifying factors to help you check your own food at home.
