Mrs. Wheeler's Second Pool Outfit in Stranger Things Proves She's Done With Billy for Good
Even if you haven't started on Stranger Things 3 yet, you can probably guess what happens just from this picture alone:
Yep, after that steamy kitchen scene from season two, Mrs. Wheeler has officially shot her shot. She spent weeks by the pool lusting after Billy Hargrove and in the end, she got her way. Billy propositioned her for a late-night meet-up, but Karen chose her family, instead.
The next day, Karen's right back by the pool, but there's one important detail you might have missed – and it's all in her outfit.
Before her encounter with Billy, Mrs. Wheeler is dressed to kill. She wears a colorblocked one-piece ("Dig the new suit, Mrs. Wheeler."), a statement necklace with matching earrings, and bright pink lipstick. All the makings of the perfect thirst trap, essentially.
But afterward, Karen ditches a few essential pieces of her original look: the lipstick, which accentuates her lips, and the necklace, which draws attention to her breasts.
This small detail might seem insignificant, but it signifies her commitment to her family. That she's not just rejecting Billy, she's rejecting any future flirtationships, as well. Karen Wheeler finally appreciates the life she has.
