Chips and salsa is one of those winning snack combination that is pretty hard to mess up. But if you’re down for a twist on the classic, and happen to love pickles, then Grillo’s Pickle de Gallo is going to be right up your alley.

The dill recipe combines cucumber brine (water, distilled white vinegar, salt), yellow onion, red bell pepper, and garlic. Those are super simple ingredients, which is why it’s also a low-calorie snack option — coming in at 5 calories for two tablespoons. Who needs tomatoes when we now have pickled salsa?

As if we weren’t already set to snack, the Pickle de Gallo comes in mild, medium, and hot varieties. The heat in the medium and hot options come from jalapeño and habanero peppers, so let’s see if you can handle the heat.

“This is the perfect snack for dipping, spreading, or topping your favorite chips, sandwiches, or hot dogs. Give your taste buds something to relish. (Sorry, we had to.),” the description says.

The Pickle de Gallo was first introduced by Grillo’s in May 2020, so it’s probably been sitting in the refrigerated section of your grocery store and you had no idea. You can find it at Target, Publix, Kroger, Stop & Shop, Harris Teeter, and Giant. Sorry, chips and salsa, We’re now team chips and Pickle de Gallo.
