Move Over, Peppermint — The New Skittles Candy Canes Are on Our Christmas Wishlist
Does it seem premature to be talking about Skittles Christmas candy? Not if you ask us. After all, we already got the scoop on what’s happening with the brand for Halloween this year (spoiler alert: It’s sour). So we might as well move onto the 2021 holiday season, which will include Skittles Candy Canes.
The new offering was unveiled as part of The Sweets & Snacks Expo that’s taking place in Indianapolis from June 23 to 25. Redstone Foods, a distributor, is part of the convention and is giving a sneak peek at what we can expect in the candy aisles later this year. Among them are the Skittles Candy Canes that are sure to make a statement on your tree, in your stocking, and on your gifts!
The candy canes were created to taste like the Original flavors you can find in a pack. That means each one has rows of Strawberry, Orange, Lemon, Green Apple, and Grape flavors that are just as bright as the red, orange, yellow, green, and purple candies you’d find in a Skittles bag. As detailed on the packaging, it features “5 flavors in 1 cane,” so it’ll truly be like you’re tasting the whole rainbow in one lick.
Last year, Redstone Foods was also the first list the Froot Loops Candy Canes, which battle the Skittles ones for the most colorful award. So it looks like we’ve found the hot new flavor for 2021. The Skittles Candy Canes come from the Spangler Candy Company and include 12 in each box. While we don’t know for sure when they’ll be hitting shelves, they were made for the Christmas season and should be rolling out some time after summer.
