  • Kate Gosselin has a brand new show, Kate Plus Date, so the reality star is earning a reality TV-sized pay check again.

  • Despite her many years on TV, the reality star has a surprisingly normal net worth, and saved most in a college fund.

  • The mom of eight has received paychecks for speaking engagements, reality TV appearances, and book deals.

Everybody knows how many kids Kate Gosselin has (uh, it was built right into the title of her previous TLC reality shows, Jon & Kate Plus 8 and Kate Plus 8).

That means she's got eight different mouths to feed and likely eight different college tuitions to think about (her twins are college bound right now, ICYMI)-so yeah, it takes a pretty penny to raise eight children.

TBH, exactly what Kate Gosselin's net worth is currently remains a bit of a question mark, but there a lot of clues over the years that can help add up her earnings.

Let's start from the beginning: with her hit-TV show Jon & Kate Plus 8. She and her family earned around $22,500 per episode for Jon & Kate Plus 8, according to The International Business Times. Kate appeared on a whopping 106 episodes during the TLC show's two-year run, so that adds to up almost $2.4 in total.

That's a lot of dough-until you consider that Kate also went through a contentious divorce with now-ex-husband Jon Gosselin in 2009, and money was definitely a factor. Mark Momjian, Kate's lawyer, told Us Weekly about at least one financial incident. In October 2009, Jon reportedly removed $180,000 from a joint account and only replaced $28,500 of the funds. (FYI: Jon and his lawyer disputed these claims, per Us Weekly.)

In between reality TV gigs, CelebrityNetWorth reported she and the family earned $25,000 to $40,000 for speaking engagements and church tours. After her split with Jon, Kate also starred in Kate Plus 8 and reportedly earned $250,000 per episode according to CelebrityNetWorth.

Kate also published at least two books: I Just Want You to Know: Letters to My Kids on Love, Faith, and Family and Eight Little Faces-both of which debuted at number five on the New York Times best sellers list, so those certainly padded her bank account as well as fans' libraries.

Kate danced her way to at least $125,000 by competing on season 10 of Dancing with the Stars. Life&Style reported that each star earned that amount by signing up and earned bonuses of $10,000 or more per episode by staying in the competition. Kate came in at eighth place.

She also appeared on the hit NBC series, Celebrity Apprentice with Donald Trump. Previous stars on the show have revealed their earnings and The Daily Mail reported pay checks of £12,000 (approximately $15,000 now).

So, how much is the reality star actually worth? Last year, CelebrityNetWorth reported Kate's net worth totaled $200,000, which tbh seems a bit low. However, the total doesn't yet include earnings from Kate Plus Date.

Kate also told Bethenny Frankel in an interview on her YouTube channel where all her money went-and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out. Kate said she put most of the earnings into a college fund for the kids. She also mentioned that their house is important. Kate and some of the children still live in their 6,000-square-foot home in Pennsylvania.

Kate Plus Date is airing now on TLC, with five episodes in the first season. If her previous TLC pay checks are any indication, she's in for a payday of $22,500 to $250,000 per episode (as much as another $1,000,000 overall, coming her way). So honestly, even if she doesn't find her "date," she'll likely be okay on her own.
