Whether it's because we forgot how to socialise over the past two years or whether we just forgot what normality looks like, 2021 has been an awkward year for all our favourite celebrities. From tense interviews to all the PDA-ing, we've spent 12 months grimacing at our Instagram feeds, and what better way to bring the year to a close than by reliving all this painful moments all over again, with our pick of the most awkward celebrity moments of 2021. Happy cringing!

Kourtney and Travis PDA-ing everywhere

Let's start with the awkward celebrity moment that just kept on giving: Kourtney and Travis all over each other all the time. One of their cringiest moments came when Kourtney was filmed giving Travis a lap dance at someone else's wedding. As the couple partied at pal Simon Huck's wedding, Kourtney was spotted by comedian and author Claudia Oshry (who shared a video to her Instagram Story) straddling Travis to the tune of 'Mr Brightside.' As you do.

Then, a little while later the pair were caught sharing another PDA in the background of one of Penelope's TikToks. Off the back of Kim Kardashian and North West setting up a joint account, Kourtney's eldest daughter with Scott Disick has been sharing more videos, too. In one of them, P, Kourt and Travis all start spinning around to music, before Kourtney and Travis start cuddling.

Of course, fans have had lots to say about the fairly awkward PDA. "Why did they just randomly start hugging," the top comment read, while another said, "Kourtney and Travis would def be those teens always cuddling or kissing in the hallways. [sic]"

Someone else said, "The way they start hugging and Penelope just keeps going," and "HELP this is so awkward when they start hugging."

Meanwhile, in November the pair were spotted getting *really* handsy just a few feet away from Kris Jenner at her 66th birthday party, which was all kinds of uncomfortable.

Paris Hilton's wedding pictures

Back in November Paris Hilton married Carter Reum in a lavish ceremony that made headlines all around the world. Not only were the likes of Kim Kardashian and Nicole Richie on the guest-list but Paris wore a bespoke Oscar de la Renta gown that took months to make.

But, observant fans spotted that Paris's social media posts from the day only seemed to include pictures of herself. Well, with *that* fairytale dress, we don't blame her.

One fan tweeted a series of Paris's pictures from the wedding saying, "obsessed with Paris Hilton not posting a single picture of her husband from their wedding," while another wrote, "Paris Hilton didn't post any pictures of her husband lmao," and one fan simply responded, "And that’s hot."

Pete Davidson's hickey

In the celeb pairing that nobody saw coming Pete Davidson and Kim Kardashian got together in 2021 after appearing on Saturday Night Live together back in October. After weeks of speculation the pair seemingly confirmed their relationship with a bit of casual hand-holding and some matching outfits. Shortly afterwards Pete appeared with what appeared to be a giant hicky on his neck. Fans, obviously, lost it.

Although, the whole thing got a whole lot more awkward because while all the (alleged) hickeys were going on Kim's estranged husband Kanye West was busy public declaring his love for her, telling an interview, "I want us to be together."

Leonardo DiCaprio flirting with Jeff Bezos' girlfriend

Leo met Amazon founder Jeff and his girlfriend Lauren Sánchez at an Art Gala event in Los Angeles back in November, with a video appearing to show Lauren semi-flirting/fangirling with Leo right in front of Jeff.

In the clip, we can see Lauren leaning in for a hug with Leo before gazing up at him with what can only be described as a look of pure adoration, while Jeff stands awkwardly at the side. Naturally, the internet quickly became obsessed with the awkward moment, with fans sharing their hilarious reactions.

Sharing their reactions on Twitter, one fan wrote, "when u got literal billions but ur not Leonardo DiCaprio [sic]" while another added, "find somebody who looks at you the way Jeff Bezos’ gf looks at Leonardo DiCaprio [sic]".

Daniel Craig's awkward AF Bond interview

The long-awaited No Time to Die was finally released in cinemas after multiple coronavirus related production delays. But, er, judging by one particular interview with 9 News Today, Daniel Craig is *just a little* over being asked about who's going to replace him as James Bond. "Not my problem," he answered when probed on who'll take over the role. As for whether he'd ever return as Bond? "Nope," he said.

That ends that one, then.

Billie Eilish's wildy awkward reaction to Jennifer Lopez

When J Lo walked on stage to present 'Song Of The Year' to Olivia Rodrigo at the MTV Video Music Awards, the camera panned to Billie and her brother Finneas. And, er, it's safe to say the singer wasn't particularly amused / happy / showing any emotion at the time.

Keke Palmer didn't know who Brooklyn Beckham was

Keke Palmer and Ilana Glazer hosted this year's Met Gala and in one really cringeworthy moment Keke essentially revealed that she didn't know who Brooklyn Beckham was. To his face...

Brooklyn and his fiancée Nicola Peltz were some of the first people to arrive at the event, and during their interview for Vogue's live stream, Keke mentioned that she and Nicola already knew each other before turning to Brooklyn and asking, "Where are you from?" - as though he was some actual stranger. Obviously, Twitter loved this. A lot.

What an awkward year it's been, eh?
