This Morning's Dr Sara Kayat has given birth to her second child, a "gorgeous" baby girl, as revealed by presenters Josie Gibson and Craig Doyle.

Dr Sara regularly appears on This Morning as a GP, and Josie and Craig have shared their colleague's good news with the show's viewers.

At the start of Monday's episode (October 9), Craig began: "We are starting with some really lovely news because over the weekend Dr Sara welcomed a gorgeous baby girl into the world, called Rose."

Co-host Josie added: "She's gorgeous, she joins the family as a younger sister to her very proud big brother Harris.

"We’re sending them a huge congratulations and loads and loads of love," Josie said, while Craig said the news is enough to make one feel "broody."

Dr Sara announced her pregnancy in an Instagram post earlier alongside a photo of her son Harris holding her bump. She explained that her second journey to pregnancy had been vastly different from the first.

"And so, we grow. We are expecting a little pumpkin this October. When I fell pregnant with Harris, I announced it on insta with too little consideration. It had been an easy journey and I was in my own blissful world," Dr. Sara wrote.

"The journey to baby two was a little different, and in truth at times I found myself resenting everyone else’s pregnancy announcements. So this time round, I’d like to be a little more mindful of others out there who are not where they want to be on their journeys to parenthood."

She continued: "I am obviously ecstatic about this announcement, yet I long to reach a loving hand out to anyone who is suffering. I’m sorry. It’s not fair. I hope from the depths of my heart that you get what you want or find peace with what you have. So much love to everyone out there, but especially to those whose paths have been rockier and darker than expected. "

This Morning airs on weekdays from 10am on ITV1.
