NYFW’s Hottest Designers Just Made Twinning a Thing

Fast becoming the hottest ticket on the NYFW schedule, the Monse show was originally supposed to be held at a smaller venue but had to be moved because of the high demand from buyers, celebrities, and editors. But, then again, in the one year since their debut collection, Fernando Garcia and Laura Kim have become the go-to designers for celebs like Brie Larson, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Selena Gomez, to name a few. And if you were like some of the guests who did not get the memo on the change of venue, check out the low-down on the Monse Spring 2017 show right here.

The Designers

It’s only been a year since designers Fernando Garcia and Laura Kim debuted their first Monse collection, and since then, Garcia and Kim are not only heading back to Oscar de la Renta (where they spent years before starting their own label) as creative designers, but they are putting capital-F “Fashion” back in NYFW. With a passion for menswear tailoring and a deep love for stripes, Monse’s spring collection is everything a New York girl will want next year. (Photo: Imax Tree)

Best Moment

Aside from the stunning collection, the music almost stole the show. A remix of the soundtrack from this summer’s must-watch TV show Stranger Things with some Santigold — no better way to set the scene. (Photo: Imax Tree)
