The Money-saving Trick You Should Know If You’re Traveling Into London Via Heathrow
London's priciest mode of public transportation to and from Heathrow Airport just got way cheaper, thanks to construction of the city's newest tube line.
According to The Independent, The Heathrow Express has slashed its fare from £25 ($32) to £5.50 ($7) a ride while the highly anticipated London Crossrail is in development — but only if you book 90 days in advance.
The train runs from London's Paddington Station to terminals 2 and 3 of Heathrow in 15 minutes, with an extra six minutes to terminal 5.
It also honors reservations a month out from your travel date at £7.50 ($10).

The original cost of the ride to the airport was £25 ($32) for its 15-minute, 15-mile journey which works out to more than $2 per mile, making it one of the most expensive rail service in Britain. While regular taxi cabs will cost you around $70 for one way.
However, if you don’t plan in advance, you’re still going to have to pay that £25 for a ticket, however it’s £37 ($48) for a round-trip. At non-rush hour times, a ticket costs £22 ($28).
The London Crossrail is expected to open between October 2020 and March 2021. When it does, it will offer speedy connections from Heathrow to major central London stations, including Liverpool Street, Canary Wharf and Bond Street.
