The first long weekend of the year has arrived. And since it is a holiday the year is 2021, it's a shopping holiday. MLK Day sales aren't typically where we see the steepest discounts on mattresses, tech, or home goods—the wild markdowns are usually reserved for Memorial day and Labor day—but there are still a few retailers taking advantage of your break from work to get you to buy stuff. And after scanning the internet commerce portals far and wide, we've found a few sales actually worth your time. Here are a few of our favorite deals from some of our favorite retailers.

Looking for MLK Day sales on menswear, watches, and sneakers? Need a new mattress? We've got you covered.

The Best MLK Day Tech Sales

Amazon: As you'd expect, Amazon has a lot of tech details kicking this weekend, including on some speakers, Bluetooth headphones, and Wi-Fi routers. Right now, one of the company's smart speakers, the Echo Show 5 is half off, the lowest price it's ever been. The Show 5 is a great speaker for an entryway or common area, since it lets you see essential info like the time or weather before you even have to ask.

Best Buy: Best Buy's long weekend sale primarily focuses on TVs, but there are some computers, headphones, and cell phones on sale too. Among the headphone discounts, you'll find the Skullcandy Sesh Evo, one of the better budget-friendly wireless workout headphones we've tested. This weekend the Sesh Evo, usually $60, is $20 off.

Walmart: Walmart isn't offering any truly headline-grabbing discounts this weekend, but there are some solid rollbacks on gaming gear and Apple accessories.

AllModern: AllModern's long weekend sale spans a bunch of categories. You can get up to 45% living room furniture, 30% off dining furniture, and 70% off rugs, among other things. That latter sale includes a bunch of office chairs, standing desk solutions, and this great, spindly floor lamp.

Hayneedle: Hayneedle is currently running a “Better Bedroom Event" through the weekend, which gets you 25% off its bedroom furniture.

Macy's: Macy's biggest sales are on clothing this weekend, but there are also plenty of bedding, rugs, and home accessories in the company's clearance section.

Schoolhouse: Schoolhouse is currently running its annual Winter Cozy sale, which gets you up to 30% off bedding.
