Miranda Lambert Reveals What It's Like Being a Stepmom to Brendan McLoughlin’s Son

Miranda Lambert isn't just a three-time Grammy winner, an eight-time CMT Music Awards winner and overall one of the most influential women in country music. She's also an amazing stepmom.

Miranda, 39, who married husband Brendan McLoughlin, 31, in a private ceremony in 2019, just celebrated her fourth wedding anniversary with the former NYPD officer, and fans have been speculating on whether the couple could be adding a new addition to their family soon.

But what many folks don't know is that Miranda and Brendan already have one child in their family, Brendan's 3-year-old son Landon, who was only an infant when the two wed. Brendan shares Landon with ex Kaihla Rettinger.

The country singer has always been open about wanting children. After splitting with The Voice's Blake Shelton back in 2015 after four years of marriage, Blake himself shared that although the they thought about kids, they both were focusing on maturing a bit.

"I think I’ve got a lot of growing up to do before I start raising kids,” Blake told Us Weekly back in 2015. “And she says the same thing.”

Luckily for Miranda, after meeting Brendan on Good Morning America back in November of 2018, she got the chance to do so as stepmom to Brendan's little boy — and it's clear she's thrilled.

"My stepson is amazing," Miranda said to Extra back in 2019. "I’m loving that whole phase ... It's great practice but I still get to go into rock and roll mode, which I really enjoy."

Although Landon resides full-time with his mother in New York City, the Miranda and Brendan makes it a priority to see him, even purchasing a place in the Big Apple to make traveling back-and-forth from Nashville easier.

"We have the best of both worlds," she told Extra in a different interview. "We spend time in New York, we get to see our adorable nugget, then we get to come back to the farm and have the quiet life. I'm enjoying the balance."

As for her relationship with Brendan, Miranda couldn't be happier. The two, who recently attended the Grammys where the "If I Was a Cowboy" singer was nominated for four awards, seem like they couldn't be more in love.

In an Instagram post for Miranda's birthday last November, Brendan didn't shy away from sharing just how much he loved her.

"It’s always an honor to be called your husband. You’re the most beautiful person inside and out," he wrote in the caption. "You have the biggest heart and show it everyday through your love for others and animals. Can’t wait to celebrate many more. Just wanted to say happy birthday and I love you. ❤️🥳❤️🎂."

And for all the fans speculating if Landon could be getting a sibling anytime soon? According to a February 2022 report from Us Weekly, the couple hopes it happens.

"She and Brendan decided after their third wedding anniversary, they would start trying, " a source told the magazine. "Miranda is thrilled and Brendan has always wanted to [have kids with her].”
