Zen beginnings. Supermodel Miranda Kerr started her wedding day with a revitalizing yoga session. During an interview with Gwyneth Paltrow at Goop Health in Culver City, California, on Saturday, June 10, the newlywed revealed new details from her May 27 nuptials to Snapchat co-founder Evan Spiegel.

“Our wedding was just so joyful,” the model, 34, said. “We started the day, did yoga, then our families came over and we literally had this celebration in our backyard. It was incredible. It was so magical.”

Kerr explained that she practices Kundalini yoga. “[It] includes a lot of breath work and chanting and meditation,” she said. “It energetically invigorates me. Without that, I don’t know that I’d be able to do everything that I do.”

Stretch it out 😉

The Australian beauty needs that energy to keep up with her son Flynn, 6, whom she shares with ex-husband Orlando Bloom. She explained that the yoga practice allows her time to be present and relax.

And while the model enjoys being a yogi, she encourages others to find what works for them. “Everyone has a different thing that fulfills [them],” she noted. “Some of my friends love running. If you find what works for you as an individual, make sure you do those things, even simple things.”

Kerr explained that the simple act of taking off her shoes and putting her feet in the grass after a long flight is energizing. “Doing simple things like that, really being conscious of being in the moment wherever I am. Take a moment to just be,” she added.

The former Victoria’s Secret model is loving the wife life. “Even though it’s coming up to four years this November that we’ve been together, we still have so much to learn from each other, and we do every day,” she said of Spiegel. “We see things from a different perspective, and we bring that to the table. Together we’re so much stronger. It’s really good to have that partnership.”

Along with yoga, becoming a mother grounded Kerr. “Before my son was born, I was working six days a week and [on] average traveling for work [to] three different countries a week,” she told Paltrow. “The only holiday I would take is Christmas. I thought that was normal. It’s so much nicer now to have more of a balance.”

The proud mom has made a conscious effort to prioritize family. “It’s a different side of that ambition,” she concluded. “It’s having a positive connection, and making sure that there’s balance in your life as well.”
