Millie Bobby Brown's Instagram ‘fits perfectly toe the line between comfy and casual and her latest look proves that you can wear knitwear even during summer.
On June 27, the Stranger Things actor posted the ultimate casual preppy ensemble to her Instagram. Captioned “strawberry sundays,” she shared a photoset wearing some distressed denim jeans, socks and pink sandals, and a pearl choker with some Y2K sunnies to accessorize. The star of the show was a baby pink knitted vest covered in giant strawberries.

The round-neck sweater’s cropped fit and tank top silhouette feels like the perfect blend of Elle Woods’ penchant for pink in Legally Blonde and Cher Horowitz’s love for knitwear in Clueless. Millie’s patterned look is a sign of retro fashion’s comeback. This summer, colors are brighter and prints are louder. Although Millie recently said that the styling on the Stranger Things set doesn’t influence her own style much, the show did give her a taste of all the boldness the ‘80s had to offer. “Working on Stranger Things certainly opened my mind to the style and staples of the '80s, which has been a fun journey. The colors, the patterns, the volume,” she told Cosmopolitan.
After a year spent wearing lockdown loungewear, the 17-year-old is always down to experiment with her style, telling Cosmopolitan that “style is constantly evolving, and my personal style is no exception. That’s the beauty of fashion. Since I was a young girl, my style has ranged from boho chic to glamorous sparkles to comfy sweats and back again.” Considering her recent Instagram throwback, her latest look is a playful snapshot of her evolution.
