Millie Bobby Brown Has A New, Dirty Dancing -Inspired Makeup Look

For someone who was born in 2004, Millie Bobby Brown has an impressive command of '80s movies and '90s nostalgia. On Thursday, the star blew up on Instagram with a selfie that referenced Jennifer Grey's iconic performance in Dirty Dancing, a movie that's checks notes over twice as old as Brown is.

In the photo, Brown poses in what looks like Grey's famous tank dress and mussed-yet-hairsprayed waves. She sealed the reference with her photo caption: "Nobody puts baby in the corner k?" (Leave it to a teen to add a "k" to one of the most famous quotes in cinema.) She further 2019-ized the look with bright blue eye shadow on the upper and lower lids, lined with white liner.

This look is so strong, it temporarily distracted us from the real news — Brown's shorter, lighter hair. She's spent some time in mid-length extensions, but the fake hair is out and her shoulder-length style is back. Hairstylist Jacob Khan detailed the transformation on Instagram: "I had fun giving Millie this new look today. She said goodbye to the extensions and is back feeling like herself with short hair. We also toned down the blonde to give her more of a hand-painted look. Now she is more of a brunette with balayage, then a blonde with a shadow root."

Brown is clearly enjoying playing around with her look, and if she's having an '80s moment, might we suggest a Flashdance photoshoot next?
