The 'Stranger Things' star is venturing into new territory.

We already know Millie Bobby Brown can travel to new places while acting on screen—we've seen her solve crimes in Victorian London and dominate demogorgons in the Upside Down, but now we're about to see her in a whole new realm.

The 19-year-old actress is going off-screen with her latest venture: her debut novel, expected to hit bookshelves later this year.

Entitled Nineteen Steps, Browns' new book is a historical novel based on true events, including her own family history. It follows the story of an 18-year-old woman named Nellie Morris, who lives in London in the midst of the second world war.

The Enola Holmes star announced the news via Instagram on Friday, March 24, appearing in a video message to fill in her followers on the exciting update.

"I’m thrilled to be announcing my debut novel, Nineteen Steps," Brown announced in her post, describing the new project as "a historical novel about an amazing, courageous 18-year-old woman called Nellie Morris, who lives with her family in Bethnal Green, in London’s East End, while the second world war rages on around them."

"When a tragic accident occurs during an air raid one night, the consequences are catastrophic - and life will never be the same again for Nellie," Brown further teased.

Brown's debut novel Nineteen Steps will be available on bookshelves everywhere beginning September 12, 2023.
