Millennium Falcon Sand Sculpture Timelapse Is Amazing
The Millennium Falcon is arguably the most famous spaceship in pop culture. (Although it might share that title with the Enterprise from Star Trek.) Everyone and their grandma knows the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy from the Star Wars saga. And we’ve seen folks pay tribute to the Han Solo’s famous ride in all kinds of ways, from cutting boards to fire pits to mince pies.
But now, thanks to Boing Boing, we’ve come across one of the most detailed tributes to the Falcon yet. It’s a sand sculpture created by an Italian artist named Leonardo Ugolini. Ugolini’s creation is pretty stunning, we must say. Because, unlike some other famous spaceships, there are a ton of details to the Falcon. Rivets, nuts and bolts, radar dishes, and more cover the entire surface. Without those details, it’s just not the Millennium Falcon. Ugolini even made a sand sculpture version of the Falcon’s famous cockpit, complete with its co-pilot Chewbacca. Because it’s really not the Falcon without our favorite Wookiee, is it?

If you visit his TikTok, you’ll see that Leonardo Ugolini has several other incredible (and very nerdy) sand sculptures. For example, there’s one of the Tower of Mordor from The Lord of the Rings and another of Batman. But from what we gather from his TikTok, this Millennium Falcon sculpture is his first Star Wars creation. We hope to see an eventual Death Star, and maybe even an Imperial Star Destroyer or two. Certainly, the iconic droid duo of R2-D2 and C-3PO deserve one as well.
