Miley Cyrus shared a touching message regarding the Nashville tornado
On Tuesday, central Tennessee got hit with severe storms and a deadly tornado, killing at least 24 people in the devastating destruction. The storms and the aftermath have shaken up both those in the affected areas and throughout the entire state. As reported by CNN, Governor Bill Lee told reporters, “It’s a tragic day in our state. It’s heartbreaking.” Miley Cyrus, a proud Tennessee native, took to Instagram to share her own message and offer ways for others to provide aid.
“Thinking about my home and family in Nashville and how fortunate I am that my place and loved ones have remained safe in these deadly tornados. My heart is broken for my home state. So much loss and damage,” Cyrus wrote.
But Cyrus isn’t letting herself be completely defeated. Along with a black and white photo of her family standing together arm-in-arm, the singer shared a hopeful message to her followers writing, “We are #NashvilleStrong and will rebuild together!” She also tagged the Happy Hippie Foundation, which she founded in 2014, and urged people to follow along for more information and resources.
“Follow @happyhippiefdn for updates on shelter and ways to get active!” Cyrus wrote. “I am receiving information just as fast as everyone else at this point so stay tuned and we will share info as quickly as possible!”

Cyrus has also been sharing various posts on her Instagram story, including one from sharing the best shelters to go to, and another from a yoga studio opening their doors to anyone who needs “a place to sit, a power outlet, a shower, a hug or a kind smile.”
The Happy Hippie Foundation shared an informational post detailing how to help Nashville. The account also had a loving message in their caption for all those affected writing, “Sending all of our love and support to our #HappyHippie family in #Nashville affected by the tornadoes. The city is close to our hearts and a huge part of our history.”
