Miley Cyrus No Longer Refers to Liam Hemsworth as Her “Fiancé” for This Reason

She Can Stop… calling him her fiancé. After recently losing her home in the catastrophic Malibu fire, Miley Cyrus had a moment of reflection that prompted her to reevaluate how she even refers to Liam Hemsworth.

The singer told Howard Stern on his SiriusXM show last week that Hemsworth ended up saving their many animals (pet pigs and dogs included) while they were evacuating the region. “So actually, Liam, I’ve never loved him more for this,” she recalled of the events.

Stern then interjected and asked if Liam was her “boyfriend… fiancé?”

“Kind of-ish,” she replied. “[He’s] my partner. I call him my ‘survival partner’ now.”

It’s been a heartbreaking few days. This is what’s left of my house. Love. Many people in Malibu and surrounding areas in California have lost their homes also and my heart goes out to everyone who was affected by these fires. I spent the day in Malibu yesterday and it was amazing to see the community pulling together to help each other out in any way they can. Hemsworth, however, hasn’t quite warmed up to the new title. “He thinks it’s not romantic, but I learned that it is,” she continued. “It is why you pair up with someone–for survival. And he was so incredible. He got all the animals out in his truck. He put two pigs in crates, which I tell you is so hard.”

She cheekily added, “He got a lot of action for saving the animals.”

After the disaster, the couple made a temporary move to Nashville, where her side of the family is based. “We’re adjusting,” she said of life back on the East Coast. “I think the hardest thing for both of us right now is to go back.”

However, they are looking for normalcy as they settle into their new lifestyles. “He’s a really amazing cook,” she gushed to Stern. Along with that, both continue to travel together. This weekend, Hemsworth joined Cyrus in New York City in support of her appearance on Saturday Night Live.
