Miley Cyrus Loses Home to California Wildfires

"This is probably our one - millionth kiss ...."

Miley Cyrus is now among the list of celebrities who’ve been affected by the recent California wildfires.

In a series of tweets on November 11th, the 25-year-old singer confirmed that her home burned down, saying that she was “completely devastated” but still considered herself lucky because “my animals and LOVE OF MY LIFE made it out safely & that’s all that matters right now.” Cyrus has been sharing the home with partner Liam Hemsworth since the couple got back together in 2016.

Cyrus had many well wishers after posting the tweet, with fans sending her lots of love and empathetic thoughts.

This loss now puts Miley in the unfortunate company of thousands of others who have lost their homes, including other celebrities like Gerard Butler and Neil Young. There are also several celebrities who have had to evacuate their homes but are not yet sure of the damage, including Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, Kylie Jenner, Khloe Kardashian, Jessica Simpson, and Robin Thicke.

So far, the wildfires have forced more than 300,000 people in California to evacuate their homes. The main wildfire, which has been dubbed the “Camp Fire” and is the most destructive fire in modern history in California, initially broke out on November 8th and has spread to over 105,000 acres since then. It’s destroyed over 7,000 structures and almost 90% of the homes in the town of Paradise, and the death toll is currently at 31 people.

Two additional fires, the “Woolsey Fire” (which has spread over 85,000 acres so far) and the “Hill Fire” (which has spread to over 4,500 acres so far) have also damaged parts of Los Angeles and Ventura counties. The Woolsey Fire is apparently responsible for the destruction of Cyrus’s home, which is located in Malibu.

In addition to sharing her gratitude that her loved ones were safe, Cyrus also urged fans and supporters to donate their time, supplies, and money to various organizations working to help those affected by the fires. Those wishing to send support in any way can donate to organizations including the [Red Cross] (https://www.redcross.org/about-us/news-and-events/news/2018/california-wildfires-red-cross-providing-shelter-as-people-flee-their-homes.html) and the [California Community Foundation] (https://www.calfund.org/wildfire-relief-fund/).
