Miley Cyrus Just Broke Her Post-Breakup Silence With an Inspiring Instagram

Less than 24 hours after news broke that Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth have called it quits after eight months of marriage, the singer broke her social media silence on Sunday, August 11. Cyrus, who's currently on a post-breakup trip to Lake Como in Italy, wrote an inspiring message on Instagram about embracing change and not fighting evolution.

"Don’t fight evolution, because you will never win. Like the mountain I am standing on top of, which was once under water, connected with Africa, change is inevitable," Cyrus began her post.

She continued, "The Dolomites were not created over night, it was over millions of years that this magnificent beauty was formed. My dad always told me 'Nature never hurries but it is always on time'... it fills my heart with peace and hope KNOWING that is true."

"I was taught to respect the planet and its process and I am committed to doing the same with my own," she added.

Cyrus shared the caption alongside two photos of herself standing on a mountaintop with blue skies behind her.

Her message about personal growth falls in line with the statement her representative released to announce the longtime couple's separation.

“Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time,” her rep told People. “Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers."

Hours before Cyrus's rep confirmed their breakup, the "Nothing Breaks Like a Heart" singer was photographed kissing Kaitlynn Carter, who also recently announced her split from husband Brody Jenner after one year of marriage (the two are reportedly "just having fun" together). Carter and Cyrus's older sister Brandi are both joining Cyrus in Italy at the moment.

And if the Instagrams are anything to go by, this girls' trip is truly one for the books.
