Miley Cyrus’s Style Is Straight Outta the ’60s

It seems that Miley Cyrus ransacked a secondhand shop. The singer, who’s been in New York City promoting her new Woody Allen show Crisis in Six Scenes, stepped out in two vintage outfits from unknown designers found in Los Angeles, according to her stylist Simone Harouche.

On Thursday, Cyrus attended the premiere of the Amazon series, which takes place in the 1960s. Cyrus, who plays a revolutionary, looked every bit the part at the premiere in a hippie-esque jumpsuit with long sleeves and capri pants in an abstract yellow, brown and orange pattern with faces all over it. With a gold belt tied around her waist, the Voice judge channeled her character in her clothing. She paired the jumpsuit with chunky, nude high-heeled sandals, orange tights and a topknot.

As promised, she did not set foot on the red carpet. “[A year ago] I had to do the [A Very Murray Christmas] premiere, and I will never do a red carpet again,” she told the October issue of Elle magazine. “Why, when people are starving, am I on a carpet that’s red? Because I’m ‘important’? Because I’m ‘famous’?”

Instead, she posed with Allen and her co-stars inside the event and met with her supposed fiancé, Liam Hemsworth, later in the evening.

On Friday, she appeared on the Today show in a red-and-white gingham number that looks like something the Wendy’s girl would wear if she grew up and became a street-style star. But we kind of dig it. The two-piece ensemble consisted of a matching shirt and skirt with lace trim, and she wore matching, sky-high chunky sandals. The shirt was tight and tummy-baring, and the skirt was long and flowing. For jewelry, she went with a white lace choker, thick red hoops, a ring with a plastic strawberry on it, a ring with a slice of pizza on it, and her “engagement” ring. Fittingly, her lips were bright red. Channeling her country days, she added a sunflower to her updo.

When Savannah Guthrie asked about her rings, in the hopes that she would divulge information about her relationship with Hemsworth, Cyrus said, “I got this one because it was really cute [referencing the pizza ring], and then I got this one ’cuz it was really cute [referencing the strawberry ring].” When Guthrie asked about the diamond ring, Cyrus said, “I didn’t pick this out, but it’s really cute.”

Ummm … we’d say it’s more than cute. If it’s the ring that Hemsworth proposed to her with in 2012 — and we think it is — it’s a 3.5-carat Neil Lane stunner in a gold setting.
