How Miley Cyrus Feels About Liam Hemsworth Suddenly Filing for Divorce
People got some intel on how Miley Cyrus feels about Liam Hemsworth filing for divorce from her today, less than two weeks after they announced their separation. It was a surprise to her, a source close to her said. “She didn’t expect it and is a bit disappointed, but she is still doing well and has obviously moved on as well."
Cyrus is sad it's over, the source added. “What she and Liam had for a long time was very special. It’s just hard for her to think that she will never have this again with Liam. There are really so many things that she loves about him.”
People's report comes after TMZ reported that Cyrus had been fighting for their marriage to the very end. She had wanted to work on their relationship, sources close to the couple told the outlet. Hemsworth was apparently "steadfast" it was over, according to TMZ. One source described him as "over the marriage."
Hemsworth has only made one public statement on his and Cyrus' separation. On his Instagram last week, he wrote, "Hi all. Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward. This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets. Any reported quotes attributed to me are false. Peace and Love."
As recently as this weekend, E! was reporting that the two's families held out hope the couple would reconcile. "Their families have urged them to take some time to breathe before they make any final decisions," an insider said. "They are both upset about how this has blown up and are both hurting right now."
Cyrus' fling with her romantic friend Kaitlynn Carter—and photos of them kissing—hadn't helped her and Hemsworth's situation. "Liam loves Miley and is hurt, but he knows that she does this," a source told Entertainment Tonight on August 12. "Miley and Liam very recently separated. Miley's behavior is no shock to Liam. He is hurt but not surprised. The last several months they've been talking about taking a break. Liam's been frustrated with some of her antics and, in turn, Miley claims she 'needs her space.' This seems to be a pattern in their relationship.
