Miley Cyrus Defended Selena Gomez After Stefano Gabbana Bullied Her

She called it "total bull sh*t."

Celebrities are coming to Selena Gomez's defense after Stefano Gabbana bullied her with a rude comment on social media. On June 12, the Dolce & Gabbana designer commented on an Instagram user's post about Selena, writing “è proprio brutta!!!” which means, "she's so ugly!" when translated from Italian.

Miley Cyrus, who has feuded with the designer in the past, took to Instagram to publicly condemn his words. She wrote, “What that dck head said (if it’s true) is f**king false and total bull sht.” In 2017, Miley posted that she did not agree with the brand's "politics" and Stefano responded by writing, "We are Italian and we don't care about politics and mostly neither about the American one! We make dresses and if you think about doing politics with a post it's simply ignorant."

13 Reasons Why actor Tommy Dorfman also chimed in on the controversy by screenshotting Stefano's comment about Selena and writing on Instagram Stories, "Let it be known there will be no more tolerance for this kind of negativity/bullying. Fame and success do not give you permission to be an asshole. I would tag Stefano in this but he blocked me. I hope magazines and other public figures think twice before supporting @dolceandgabbana."

Outside of feuding with celebrities, the brand has been involved in several controversies over the last few years. In 2015, Domenico Dolce told Panorama Magazine that he opposes gay adoptions. He said, "We oppose gay adoptions. The only family is the traditional one … No chemical offsprings and rented uterus; Life has a natural flow, there are things that should not be changed,' said the designers in the piece titled 'Long Live the [Traditional] Family." Then, in 2017, Stefano apologized after he posted a zoomed in photo of Lady Gaga's stomach during the Super Bowl criticizing her looks.

Talking about someone's appearance negatively is never ok even if they are famous. Though Selena has not publicly commented about the situation, it's clear that she has some great friends that are willing to call out bullying when they see it.
