Quinn Nordin was responsible for all of Michigan’s points in the first half of the Outback Bowl against South Carolina.

Nordin made all three field goals he attempted, including a 45-yarder as time expired in the second quarter. That kick gave the Wolverines a 9-3 lead at the break, and he let the Gamecocks’ sideline know about it:

Yeah… Nordin went with the Baker Mayfield-esque crotch grab. As Mayfield will tell you, Quinn, that’s generally frowned upon. Perhaps Nordin was still mad about the pre-bowl game bowling alley shouting match.

(Update: Nordin apologized after the game.)

South Carolina got the last laugh in a come-from-behind 26-19 win.

As far as kickers go, Nordin has become kind of infamous. He once announced his verbal commitment to Penn State with a video that involved this dramatic look out a plane window.

But Nordin flipped his commitment to the in-state Wolverines after UM coach Jim Harbaugh slept over at his house. Yeah, he’s that guy.

Nordin has a huge leg. He notably drilled two 50-plus-yard kicks in a Week 1 win over Florida and, after the game against South Carolina, finished the year 19-of-24 on field goals. He connected on all four of his attempts.
