Where there is dark, there is light. Where there is good, there is evil. Where there is immaculate makeup artistry, there are unfiltered, makeup-less selfies. We’re talking about Instagram here. Busy Phillipps and Michelle Williams, two actresses who met on the set of Dawson’s Creek __and committed to best friendship for life, joined so many before them, from Gwyneth Paltrow to Tyra Banks, as they contributed to the age-old tradition of posting makeup-less selfies to offset all those facetuned ’grams. They were just coming off of a girls trip, and by way of explanation, Phillipps wrote, “No makeup no filters! That’s how we roll!”

The two drank wine, experienced art, and went shopping in addition to posing sans makeup. As is customary with makeup-less (and unfiltered) Instagrams, Phillipps shared some makeup-less honesty, too. She wrote, “I’m sad we don't get to live in the same place but yesterday was a perfect day together and just what I needed for my soul and that’s what best friends are for, right?”

The caption continued, “To show up when you need them most and remind you of who you are and why you are and that no matter what, it’s all O.K. cause you will always have each other.”

If everyone had friends like these, Sephora would go out of business.
