Michelle Obama Wished Her “Favorite Guy” Barack a Happy 59th Birthday

Kissing emoji and all.

Michelle Obama shared a sweet tribute to former President Barack Obama on his 59th birthday.

On Tuesday morning, she posted an old photo of the couple with their daughters, Sasha and Malia, writing, "Happy birthday to my favorite guy. Here's to all the good days, blue skies, and new adventures to come," finishing off the post with a kissing emoji.

The Obamas recently sat down for the former First Lady's new podcast, The Michelle Obama Podcast. The couple discussed quarantining together during the coronavirus pandemic, with the Michelle stating, "Like most Americans, we’ve been spending a lot of time together in quarantine."

"You don’t seem too happy about that, the way she said it, right?" her husband laughed.

On Michelle's birthday earlier this year, the former President shared a series of four photobooth pictures of the two of them, writing, "In every scene, you are my star, @MichelleObama! Happy birthday, baby!"

Last year, Michelle opened up about "rediscovering" her husband when daughters Sasha and Malia went off to college.

"We’ve rediscovered all these little pockets of time, just me and Barack, that for a couple decades have been filled with school events or sports practices," she told People at the time. "We’re taking full advantage of this new normal, simply spending time with each other and remembering what brought us together in the first place."

"Sometimes I’ll get a glimpse of him and just go, ‘Hey you! Where have you been for 21 years?’" the former first lady added. "It’s been fun. The tough part, of course, is missing our girls. It’s an adjustment to see each other for a weekend here, a holiday break there, but the moments we do spend together feel extra special because of it."
