Michelle Obama has shared an adorable tribute to her husband, Barack Obama, on Instagram, in honor of his 60th birthday today.

The former first lady marked the special day by showing the former president as a loving father through a photo of the Obama family. The photo shows herself, her husband, and their two daughters, Sasha and Malia, posing for a fun family pic. The former POTUS is seen giving Sasha bunny ears, while Malia makes a funny face and Michelle smiles, glamorous as always.

"Of all of your accomplishments, I know that being a present, loving father to our girls tops them all. Thank you for never letting the weight of the world get in the way of being a wonderful husband and father. Happy 60th birthday, @BarackObama!" Michelle Obama wrote in the caption.

The former first lady also shared a cute before-and-after post of the former president, pairing Obama's August 2008 cover of Ebony magazine with a more current pic. "Still turning my head after all these years. Love you, Barack!" she wrote in the caption.

Former President Obama has reportedly scaled back his plans for a large 60th birthday party at his family home in Martha's Vineyard. A spokeswoman for the Obamas recently told People that, due to the recent pandemic surge, the event will now include only family and close friends.

Barack Obama's 60th birthday is also commemorated by the release of an HBO documentary on his presidency. Titled Obama: In Pursuit of a More Perfect Union, the three-part documentary premiered August 3. The documentary reflects on Obama's life, work, and political career, showing the journey of the United States' first Black president "as the country grapples with its racial history," according to HBO.
