Michelle Branch is calling out mom-shaming after getting flak for breastfeeding in public.

The singer took to Twitter on Tuesday to share that she had been "shamed by another mother" for nursing her 6-week-old daughter Willie at the playground, while watching her toddler play.

"She said I wasn't 'being modest,'" Branch wrote of the interaction, noting that the other woman was holding her own infant. "I am in shock that this kind of judgement was coming from a fellow mom!"

The 38-year-old went on to share more details and to "clarify" that she had been wearing a nursing tank top and was seated away from other people.

She concluded her tweet with plea: "Being a mom is hard enough. Can we not judge one another for how we feed our babies?"

Branch, who is also a mom to a 3-year-old son with her husband Patrick Carney and a 16-year-old daughter whom she shares with her ex-husband Teddy Landau, received an outpouring of support from people in her Twitter replies. Many shared that they or somebody they knew have had similar experiences.

"A woman did this to my bestie at the Grammy Museum 10 years ago and I'm still mad about it," one person wrote. Branch replied with her own reaction to the situation. "I was in shock," she said, "so I didn't say anything back. I'm fuming!"

A man even shared that he often heard from friends who are new moms about "how crappy other mothers treat them." Another suggested that the woman was "jealous of the lack of shame YOU felt and decided to inflict it herself."
