Michael Kors is the latest designer to opt out of New York Fashion Week for the upcoming season in September. In the past, Michael Kors's shows have often opened the final day of shows in NYC, but all of that has changed due to COVID-19 and the fashion community wanting a more consumer-focused format for Fashion Week. Now, the designer will be joining the likes of Gucci, and he is rethinking the brand's Fashion Week structure.

In a statement, the designer stated: "I have for a long time thought that the fashion calendar needs to change. It's exciting for me to see the open dialogue within the fashion community about the calendar - from Giorgio Armani to Dries Van Noten to Gucci to YSL to major retailers around the globe - about ways in which we can slow down the process and improve the way we work. We've all had time to reflect and analyze things, and I think many agree that it's time for a new approach for a new era," he said. As for when the designer will be showing his next collection, he went on to say "Keeping all of this in mind, we will also be reassessing when the fall collection is released to the press and the public - most likely sometime between mid-March and mid-April."

  • My Favorite Dainty Gold Earrings Are Customizable - I Added My Birth Flower

I have so many earrings, I should probably own two jewelry boxes for them, but lately, I've been reaching for simple, versatile pieces. One of my favorite sites to shop is Made by Mary, which is filled with delicate and stylish accessories. There are tons of designs to choose from, but I'm personally obsessed with these Evie Hoop Earrings ($42). Upon first glance, they look like classic hoops, but if you look closer, you can see there are fun little characters stamped on each earring. I got to customize each hoop with the shape of my choice. There are tons to choose from, including a paw print, cactus, bumblebee, airplane, heart, moon, and more. I decided to go with a rainbow on one side and my March birth flower (a cherry blossom) on the other side. I love that these earrings are special to my personality. I went with gold, but they come in silver and rose gold as well. Even the little box they arrived in was so cute - this design would make the perfect gift for a BFF or family member. I'll definitely be sending a pair to my sister with the "I love you hand" symbol stamped on. Read on for all the shopping details, then consider investing in these cool earrings for yourself. • We're Not Ready to Get Too Close to Friends and Family Yet, and It's Causing Tension

Two years ago (pre-COVID-19, pre-social distancing, and pre-quarantine), my husband and I made the monumental, life-changing decision to uproot our lives and move our growing family across the country. I had lived thousands of miles away from my family in a fairly liberal community with a strong sense of social responsibility for a decade, only seeing my parents and brothers once or twice a year for holidays and weddings.
