The legendary rocker/actor is doling out his expert advice on the set of Lady Gag and Bradley Cooper's 'A Star Is Born' remake.
Law-Abiding Citizen: Asylum is reserved for true refugees, not those merely "seeking a better life" because they have allowed there home countries to fester or collapse due to mismanagement and corruption. If the latter were true, every American who lives in the South Side of Chicago would qualify for asylum in Canada. The solution is to enforce the laws as written until Congress changes the laws. Those seeking asylum have to pass an inspection/screening process designed to differentiate between bonafide refugees and those who are NOT eligible for asylum [8USC1225(a)]. Part of that process is an asylum interview conducted by a trained asylum officer. The questions asked by the asylum officer should be simple ones, for instance: (Question 1): Do you have a fear of persecution "on account of race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion"? [8USC1101(a)(42)] (Question 2): Can you prove it, here and now? [8USC1158(b)(1)(B)] If the answer to either of those questions are "NO" (or not credible), "the officer shall order the alien removed from the United States without further hearing or review." [8USC1225(b)(1)(B)(iii)] Each asylum interview should take no more than one hour, maybe a bit more if the alien has properly and comprehensively prepared for it.
