Miami's Formula 1 Grand Prix Brings Out Celebrities Like Tom Cruise, Vin Diesel, and Patrick Mahomes
The second annual Miami Formula 1 Grand Prix went down over the weekend, cementing the city's role in the international racing calendar. Formula 1 officials were eager to make this year's event feel bigger than ever, and they certainly turned out some celebrities.
Sports Illustrated had its eye on the streets, and managed to spot a whole host of celebrities. The music world was well represented with the likes of Ludacris, J. Balvin, and DJ Khaled.
They also spotted actors like James Marsden, Vin Diesel, and Top Gun legend Tom Cruise, as well as Shark Tank star and entrepreneur Daymond John.
Plus, to nobody's surprise, sports icons were all over the place. DJ Diesel, aka Shaquille O'Neal, was spotted chopping it up with fans. NBA Rookie of the Year Paolo Banchero was spotted, plus Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett. And of course, the city's own Miami Heat star Udonis Haslem was there.
Naturally, no Formula 1 race would be complete without its drivers. F1 stars like Daniel Ricciardo and Lewis Hamilton were just a few of the racers spotted.
Formula 1 has seen exponential growth in the U.S. thanks in part to the popularity of the Netflix documentary series Drive to Survive. If this year's Miami Grand Prix attendance is any indication, celebrities are all-in on international racing at the Miami International Autodrome.
