'Mexican Pizza: The Musical ' To Debut On The Same Day The Menu Item Returns
September 15 is shaping up to be quite the day. Mexican pizza lovers likely already know that the much-loved dish is permanently returning to the Taco Bell menu on that day, but it looks like the chain has even more up its sleeve.
Taco Bell announced on social media yesterday that Mexican Pizza: The Musical will finally make its debut on September 15. The quirky musical will air exclusively on TikTok LIVE at 5 p.m. PT/ 8 p.m.ET.
"Places everyone. #MexicanPizzaTheMusical is set to debut on 9/15. Music & Lyrics by award-winning composers @abigailbarloww & @mlebear," read the caption to an Instagram post from Taco Bell announcing the date.
The Mexican pizza is a menu item that has seen more ups and downs than a Real Housewives episode, so there could be a bit of drama thrown into the mix. In a past press release, Taco Bell described the musical as a “satirical musical about the 'harrowing' story of those who fought to bring back the Mexican Pizza." Taco Bell aficionados likely recall when the dish was available for a limited time earlier this year, but swiftly sold out.
In addition to an appearance from country music star Dolly Parton, who previously shared the image of the musical's script on social media, the show will reportedly include appearances from Doja Cat and TikToker Victor Kunda.
