Sara Haines Joins 'The View' Following 'Strahan, Sara and Keke' Cancellation
Dedicated fans of The View may have noticed that ABC hasn't been airing new episodes of the beloved talk show during the 11 a.m. ET hour. Why, you ask? Just as the show has in previous years, The View started its summer hiatus on Monday, August 3.
But fear not, View-ers: New episodes will begin airing in September, according to a recent tweet from co-host Meghan McCain. Most likely, episodes will start back up again right after Labor Day.

While it's a bummer that we'll have to wait a few weeks to see Meghan, Whoopi Goldberg, Sunny Hostin, Joy Behar, and Ana Navarro-Cárdenas again, it appears everyone will be returning for the next season.
Additionally, Variety reports that Sara Haines, a former View co-host for two seasons, will be returning to the talk show this fall in place of Abby Huntsman, who left The View in January. Sara is coming over to The View after her other show, GMA3: Strahan, Sara and Keke, which she co-hosted with Keke Palmer and Michael Strahan, was canceled by ABC.
Weeks before The View went on hiatus last year, rumors swirled that Meghan was potentially leaving the ABC show because, as several "sources" claimed, she felt like she was "going to war" every day and that the show's producers treated her "with kid gloves."
Right around the same time, hearsay that Whoopi might be walking away also emerged when New York Times Magazine published an interview with the Sister Act star where she said her job on The View was not "enough" for her.
But regardless of these reports, both Meghan and Whoopi ended up back at The View table last September.
As for the show itself, The View will likely keep its current format and continue to center around political hot-topic issues, especially as the 2020 presidential election nears. After all, The View's ratings continue to be great, so why change it?
