Meghan McCain decided against sharing photos from her pregnancy, telling fans in August that “there are a lot of cruel things written about me in the press on an almost constant/daily basis."

"Normally I just let it go because it comes with the territory of being an outspoken conservative woman on TV — but I've felt intensely protective and private over this time in my life and the privacy of my child," the View host explained in an Instagram Stories post over the summer. "I hope all the wonderful people who are so supportive and kind understand!"

But now that she’s welcomed daughter Liberty Sage, who was born Sept. 28, the talk show host has changed her tune. On Sunday, the new mom posted a series of never-before-seen selfies taken at the end of her pregnancy.

“The year wasn’t all bad,” she wrote alongside three photos showing off her baby bump days before giving birth.

McCain, whose pregnancy remained off-camera as she filmed The View at home during the pandemic, has also been discreet when it comes to showing her nearly 3-month-old daughter’s face.

McCain explained her reluctance to share pregnancy details in a May tweet, citing the negative comments she often receives online and her desire to leave her “unborn child out of the social media cesspool as much as is possible.”
