Meghan Markle's U.S. Open Outfit Had a Sweet Nod to Prince Harry

    Ahead of Meghan Markle's formal return from maternity leave next week, the duchess took a surprise trip stateside to cheer on her friend Serena Williams at the U.S. Open. The J.Crew dress she chose for the occasion immediately caught fans' attention, but a closer look at Markle's courtside outfit reveals that her look was more than shoppable. It also included a nod to her husband back in England.

    Meghan Markle's accessories for the U.S. Open showed that the duchess carries Prince Harry close to her heart...literally. Markle's outfit included a gold chain necklace with two tiny dog tag charms. The Daily Mail was first to spot that the charms are embossed with an "H" and an "M," for Harry and Meghan. When Williams's match got intense, photographers snapped Markle fidgeting with the necklace's charms.

    Royal wardrobe watchers didn't need much time to hunt down Markle's accessory. She's wearing the dog tag initial necklace by Mini Mini Jewels, which retails for $250. It's currently in stock at Nordstrom.

    The Duchess of Sussex is known for embedding references to her family throughout her wardrobe. On her last visit to New York, for her baby shower in February, she also wore accessories nodding to Prince Harry and Baby Archie. Markle carried a Cuyana travel bag embossed with an "H" for Harry; she also wore a "Mommy" necklace by Jennifer Meyer.

    As for the rest of Meghan Markle's U.S. Open wardrobe, fans haven't spotted her beyond the final match yesterday afternoon. But more information about her trip has come to light. Markle snuck in a quick yoga class ahead of the U.S. Open match she attended. She also surprised her longtime makeup artist, Daniel Martin, for his birthday.

    While the Markle Sparkle only made a brief appearance this weekend, we'll see a lot more of it in the coming weeks. First up: Markle is scheduled for her first royal engagement since going on maternity leave on September 12, where we'll get a first glimpse at her clothing line for Smart Works.
