Meghan Markle's Farewell Tour Outfits Were Carefully Planned to "Go Out With a Bang"

Everyone has had a moment in their life when they wanted their outfit to really say something. For Meghan Markle, that was apparently the case during her final engagement as a royal. In the new biography Finding Freedom, which details Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's decision to leave the royal family, authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand explain how all of those stunning outfits came to be.

"The pictures of the couple beaming under their umbrella as they arrived at the event went viral around the world," Scobie and Durand wrote. "The sparkling rain in the frame was pure coincidence, but the confident walk into Mansion House venue and Meghan's blue midi dress by Victoria Beckham were carefully planned." They also add that Daniel Martin, Markle's makeup artist, joked that she needed to "go out with a bang!"

If you need a little refresher in those final outfits, there were three main dresses, accompanied by several other daytime looks. Markle opted to champion British designers and wore almost entirely women.

Many people pointed out that her green Emily Wickstead dress may have paid homage to her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana because it was similar to one she wore in 1982.

As the authors mentioned, the rain was, of course, unplanned but the striking blue Victoria Beckham dress certainly was.

Her red dress was called "a master class in revenge dressing" by Vanity Fair. The outlet also pointed out that it had a similar vibe to the dress Princess Diana wore to the Serpentine Gallery, the night Charles gave his first interview about Camila.
