Meghan Markle Wrote an Emotional Letter to Her Dad Asking Him to Stop Spreading Lies About Her
Meghan Markle and her father Thomas Markle have had all kinds of public drama since Meg married into the royal family. Of course, Meghan hasn't officially said anything about it, but Thomas has been doing his fair share of speaking to the press.
Thankfully, we now finally have Meghan's side of the situation. According to Daily Mail, Meghan wrote a five-page letter to her father in August addressing their 'feud' and detailing how upset it made her. She wrote:
Daddy,
It is with a heavy heart that I write this, not understanding why you have chosen to take this path, turning a blind eye to the pain you're causing...Your actions have broken my heart into a million pieces - not simply because you have manufactured such unnecessary and unwarranted pain, but by making the choice not to tell the truth as you are puppeteered in this. Something I will never understand.
Meghan also addressed many of Thomas' claims to the press, writing:
You've told the press that you called me to say you weren't coming to the wedding-that didn't happen because you never called...You've said I never helped you financially and you've never asked me to help which is also untrue; you sent me an email last October that said: 'If I've depended too much on you for financial help them I'm sorry but please if you could help me more not as a bargaining chip for my loyalty'
And remember when Thomas said that Meghan 'ghosted' him and that he's made 'dozens' of attempts to reach her? Yeah, she wrote about that too:
...the week of the wedding to hear about you having a heart attack through a tabloid was horrifying. I called and texted... I begged you to accept help-we sent someone to you home...and instead of speaking to you me to accept this or any help, you stopped answering your phone and chose to only speak to tabloids...you haven't reached out to me since the week of our wedding, and while you claim that you have no way of contacting me my phone number has remained the same. This you know. No texts, no missed calls, no outreach from you.
And Meg also calls out her dad for publicly being rude to Harry (remember that time that Thomas hung up on him? Or called him arrogant?). She says:
We all rallied around to support and protect you from day 1, and this you know. So to hear about the attacks you made at Harry in the press, who was nothing but patient, kind, and understanding with you is perhaps the most painful of all.
Oof. This is all kinds of upsetting, and since it's from months ago, we know that it didn't compel Thomas to stop speaking negatively about his daughter and her new family. Why are you like this, Thomas?!??
