The Duchess re-wore her engagement announcement frock with a Sentaler coat to the WellChild Awards.
Ever since announcing her engagement to Prince Harry, the world's eyes have been fixed on Meghan Markle — and her style. We'll be following the Meghan Markle Effect™ with our column, "Meghan Markle Wore a Thing."
On Tuesday evening, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were guests at the WellChild Awards, held at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London. The annual event celebrates inspirational children and young people coping with serious illnesses across the U.K. The royal couple attended a reception ahead of the official ceremony to meet the young winners of each award as well as their families and caretakers. The Duke, who has been a patron of the WellChild charity since 2007, then presented the award for Most Inspirational Child and delivered a speech.
For the occasion, the Duchess sported a fitted, bow-detail green Parosh dress that she had previously worn for her engagement photo call with Prince Harry in November of 2017. This time, she paired the frock with a long, soft beige coat by Canadian luxury outerwear company Sentaler — which she also wore in 2017 during her first royal Christmas — and suede pointed-toe Manolo Blahnik pumps.
And though we appreciated her recycled garments, our favorite part of the ensemble had to be the Duchess's Montunas scarf bag. Featuring an open top design, a cool tortoiseshell effect and a floral print, the small tote — which is available for $485 — added an element of fun to an otherwise pared-down look.
