We are still seeing the effects of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey. And now, it looks like the latest person to add their thoughts to the conversation is the Most Rev. Michael Bruce Curry.

Curry, who is the first African American to preside as bishop of the Episcopal Church, also famously delivered a 14-minute sermon at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's wedding ceremony back in 2018. The bishop sat down with Today to discuss the royal couple's interview with Winfrey, which highlighted challenges Markle faced, as well as questions that were raised regarding Archie's skin color.

Check out Bishop Curry's reaction in the video below.

In the video, Sheinelle Jones of NBC News’ 3rd hour of Today asked Curry what his reaction was to the interview, given his history and close relationship to the couple. The bishop said, "Where I finally landed was, I said to somebody, remember, everybody involved in this, they're all people. And you know what, we need to cut everybody some slack as they say on the streets and give them a break."

He added, "And you know what, I invite everybody to pray for the two of them, pray for their family, pray for the U.K., pray for us all that we find a way to deal with past harms, to heal, to forgive, to reconcile."

When Curry delivered his sermon in 2018, he became the first American to preach at a British royal wedding. In his address, he quoted the late Martin Luther King Jr., saying "We must discover the power of love, the redemptive power of love. And when we discover that, we will be able to make of this old world a new world. Love is the only way."

We're happy to see this beautiful message persist.
