This royal isn’t putting pressure on herself to lose the baby weight.. Meghan Markle’s post-baby weight loss plan is realistic and doesn’t put stress on the new mom. Since welcoming her son, baby Archie, in May, the Duchess of Sussex has been taking time with her body and hasn’t been succumbing to public pressure when it comes to body image.

It’s been two months since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their son, and though the process hasn’t been easy, according to a source for Us Weekly, Markle isn’t sweating it when it comes to her post-baby weight. The new mom is taking care of her body in a health, self-care-focused manner. “It’s not easy to lose the weight, but she’s happy to be a realistic example for new mothers,” a source told Us Weekly.

Markle isn’t the only famous mom to be open about post-baby life in the spotlight. Beyoncé opened up about how her postpartum diet for Coachella went too far in April. “In order for me to meet my goal, I’m limiting myself to no bread, no carbs, no sugar, no dairy, no meat, no fish, no alcohol. And I’m hungry,” the singer shared in her Homecoming documentary. Tennis champion (and Meghan Markle’s close friend) Serena Williams has also been open about her post-baby body and mental health. In April 2018, the Grand Slam champion told People, “My whole life I’ve been physically pushing my body to the limits. And this is the one time where I couldn’t control anything. I couldn’t push my body. My body pushed to its maximum. That was so hard.”

Since her baby’s birth, the Duchess of Sussex has been taking care of her body on her own time and not falling to societal pressures. It’s never necessary for new mothers to lose weight (everyone’s body is their own), but if they choose to, it should always been done healthily and on their own accord. We’re so glad Markle and other famous moms have been open and honest about their experiences and de-stigmatizing the pressures of motherhood.
