The royal family is still figuring out a "workable solution" to Harry and Meghan's plans to step back from their senior roles, to seek financial independence, and to split their time between the UK and Canada.

"These are complex matters for my family to resolve, and there is some more work to be done," the Queen said in a rare personal statement earlier this week, following a meeting in Sandringham with Prince Harry, Prince William, and Prince Charles to "talk things through."

"I have asked for final decisions to be reached in the coming days," the British monarch wrote.

In the meantime, Meghan is already getting to know the community—and the non-profit landscape—in Canada.

Today, she visited the Downtown Eastside Women's Centre (DEWC), an organization which supports women and children with basic needs including food, clothing, and computer access as well as services like skills development, HIV case management, and seniors outreach in Vancouver.

"Look who we had tea with today! The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, visited us today to discuss issues affecting women in the community. 💜" reads a post on the organization's Facebook page, along with a photo of Meghan alongside several other women involved with DEWC.

Meghan looked casual for the meeting, wearing an oversized cream sweater and dark pants, a look which she paired with brown leather boots, and a loose hair style. (Earlier in the day, she was photographed out and about wearing the same outfit, paired with a Cuyana leather tote and a Barbour coat with fur trim.)

The Sussexes spent their 6-week holiday break on Vancouver Island, and returned to the UK for an engagement and to make their big announcement shortly after the first of the year. After breaking the news on Instagram, Meghan quickly returned to Canada and to her son Archie, who had been reportedly left in the care of a nanny and Meghan's close friend Jessica Mulroney for just a few days.

Prince Harry is currently still in the UK, in part because he has an engagement on Thursday. He is also expected to return to Canada soon.
