Meghan Markle and her husband, Prince Harry, may have hosted the biggest wedding of 2018, but according to her makeup artist, Daniel Martin, the bride-to-be was as “chill” as ever.
The beauty guru appeared on a recent episode of the podcast Gloss Angeles, where he recalled doing Markle’s makeup for the royal wedding.
Despite the fact that the event was internationally broadcast, Martin revealed the duchess didn’t show any signs of nerves before the nuptials, which took place at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.
“She’s the most chill person—and that morning was just, like, easy. That’s why it didn’t…nothing fazed us,” he said.
Since Markle was understandably busy before the big day, Martin forwent a makeup trial and headed straight to Pinterest. “I didn’t have a makeup trial with her because we just couldn’t make the time. I knew what she liked and what she didn’t like,” he added. “We exchanged, like, Pinterest pictures over text.”
When asked about the impact his involvement with the royal wedding had on his career, Martin admitted that he had no idea what he was getting himself into. “Nope. Zero,” he said. “I mean, literally, it was like a friend asking me to do her wedding. I was like, ‘I’m happy, you’re happy. Of course, I’ll do your makeup.’”
The rest, as they say, is history.
