Meghan Markle Is Spending Thanksgiving Week Visiting the Women of Her Charity Cookbook

Her new country may not celebrate Thanksgiving, but Meghan Markle is still getting into the spirit of the holiday. On Wednesday, November 21, the Duchess of Sussex stepped out to visit the women of the Hubb Community Kitchen, which was started in the wake of the Grenfell Tower fire. The women have been part of Markle's royal sphere since she moved to London and were involved in her very first solo project, the charity cookbook Together: Our Community Cookbook, for which she wrote the foreward.

The last time we saw them all together publicly was at the luncheon she hosted for the women (and her mom, Doria Ragland, and Prince Harry) at Kensington Palace in September. From the looks of the smiles on everyone's faces, the group was very happy to be reunited. It's great, but not at all surprising, to see Markle following through on her passion project.

According to People, the cookbook has sold more than 40,000 copies in the U.K. and raised $270,000—with even larger numbers expected from international sales. "Thanks to the funds raised from Together, the kitchen has been completely renovated, with the women’s input, capturing the joyful spirit of the Hubb Community Kitchen and providing a safe, professional space to unite the community through food," tweeted the official Kensington Palace account. "The women are now able to use the kitchen seven days a week, and have been empowered to gain qualifications and start their own new projects helping others in their community to benefit from the kitchen."

During her visit at the Al Manaar Community Center, Markle was updated on new projects the women are working on, including supporting a group affected by domestic violence, delivering freshly cooked meals for women in maternity wards, and producing healthy treats for children.

It also looks like (shock!) they cooked up some delicious food.
