Just a few hours after announcing that Meghan is expecting the couple's first child, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped out for the first day of their 16-day royal tour of Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga. The royals were welcomed by his Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove and his wife, Lady Cosgrove, who presented the beaming parents-to-be with a toy kangaroo, joey and a pair of toddler Ugg boots.

"Our first baby gift," the duchess said excitedly!

For the occasion, Meghan donned a form-fitting white dress by Australian designer Karen Gee. It's customary for royals to wear designers from whichever country they happen to be visiting at the time, to show their support and respect.

She paired the look with a pair of suede tan pumps and minimal jewelry.

The couple later visited the Taronga Zoo, where they saw koalas and other wildlife, and then toured the Sydney Opera House. Later tonight, Meghan and Harry will attend a reception to mark this year's Invictus Games, held in Australia.
